How it works:

Whenever an individual is alone, feels vulnerable or exposed to risk by the nature of their environment…

1. ACTIVATION

Activate the ByMySide App by setting a specific DURATION of time or a specific DESTINATION and leave the App open in the background. Go about business as usual.

2. TRIGGER

When the set ByMySide till DURATION or till a DESTINATION expires the app will launch its ProTECHtor Sequence.

The ProTECHtor Sequence can also be triggered by the user at any time whilst the app is active, using the ByMySide Apps intelligent sensor and monitoring features. These triggers are fully customisable and include:

Shaking the phone
Voice Activation; via pre-set Safety Words
Man-Down suggestive movements; including falls and inactivity

3. ProTECHtor SEQUENCE:

Once triggered, the ByMySide App launches a 3 phase automated protection sequence...Alarm, Capture, Assist

In ProTECHtor Mode, ByMySide App will Alarm to draw attention to the distressed and to potentially deter advances from opportunistic predators. It will automatically alert designated emergency contacts, and will utilize the phones camera to capture and send valuable audio and visual information needed to help assess the situation and to better assist the distressed individual.

Alarm:

When triggered ByMySide App will alarm to draw attention to the distressed individual and potentially deter advances from opportunistic predators. This is achieved by a combination of:

Loud Audio Alarm
Flashing Lights
Customisable Verbal Warnings (Eg: “Urgent Help Required” / “Warning; police are being sent to this location”/ “Warning; you are being recorded”)

Capture:

The ByMySide App will then utilize the smart phones camera to capture and send valuable audio and visual information (video recording) required to help emergency contacts assess the situation and to better assist the individual in need. This captured content can also prove vital in the identification and prosecution of the perpetrators.

Assist:

The ByMySide App will then automatically alert the designated emergency contacts to the user’s distress via SMS with a link to the user’s current location. It will also mail the captured audio visual content to the nominated contacts. The ByMySide App will also continue to send the emergency contacts regular updates until the app is deactivate by the user.

A Speed dial tab for the elected Emergency Services will also appear on the screen.

The app also has the potential to deliver real time tracking of the user’s location and post the alert to the users social media account, as well as live streaming the captured content from the event as it occurs.

Every element of the ProTECHtor Sequence is pre customizable to suit the user’s needs, maximizing their safety and confidence.

Cancelling the ProTECHtor Sequence:

The ProTECHtor Sequence and the active ByMySide Duration or Destination can be cancelled at any time by pressing the cancel button and entering a pin code.

The ByMyside App also has the added safety features of unique “Pin-Shot” Technology that takes a picture of the person entering the cancellation pin.

The App also has the capability to increase user’s safety further by activation of “Duress Mode”, enabling the ProTECHtor Sequence to continue to function covertly and discretely if the user is ever forced to cancel the active ByMySide out of duress.

With the ProTECHtor Sequence at its core; ByMySide has developed 6 fully customizable platforms each with basic and advanced capabilities designed to cater to the unique personal protection needs for the most typically prevalent risk environments.
